Update 20 March
We consider it very important to inform you of the most recent coronavirus developments.
In Europe measurements taken by the governments are constantly changing. Some areas are less accessible and in other areas shops are closing. In spite of the increasing measures, our service remains guaranteed at all our destinations.
However, additional border controls sometimes result in long waiting times, which means that the agreed lead times cannot always be guaranteed. Delivery problems at destination can also cause delays.
That is why we repeat our request to check in advance if your loading or unloading address is accessible and whether goods can be loaded and/or unloaded. Too often we find that addresses are closed, which results in extra costs. We have to return the goods to our agent’s depot, or in some cases even to point of departure. In such case we will have to charge you for the extra costs this incurs.
As a result of the measures imposed, the shortage of available drivers to some destinations is increasing. The growing shortage of transport capacity causes an increase in transport costs, which is further aggravated by the shortage of return freight.
Operational costs are rising sharply, especially for the most severely affected countries and risk areas. We are making every effort to keep costs under control so that we can maintain our transport prices. However, we cannot rule out the possibility that we may have to make a price adjustment at some point or in certain situations. If this is the case, you will of course be informed personally.
Due to the shortage of face masks, we can no longer guarantee deliveries with face masks. Medical staff and care providers will be given priority when purchasing face caps, a measure that everyone can only fully understand.
We will continue our efforts to provide you with the best possible service. If the situation changes, we will inform you via our newsletters. Up-to-date information is also available at https://oldbas.cmdev.nl/corona.
